Haven Hills’ Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed for clients who are at a point in their recovery journey at which they are able to sustain and continue progress with 12-20 hours of therapeutic support. At this stage of recovery, individuals are increasing or maintaining participation in their normal life activities, such as work or school, while still receiving consistent support in order to manage the increasing amount of stressors and triggers being encountered. Clients in this level of care continue to engage in individual, group, and family therapy sessions and interventions. There is a higher emphasis placed on case management support and services at the IOP level of care, each client is provided with a care advocate to help clients’ develop their outpatient resources and transition into daily life while maintaining their recovery lifestyle.
Initially, clients participate in 20+ hours of therapeutic and nutritional support programming, attending program Monday through Friday from 10:00am-2:30pm, including various group and individual interventions and 1 therapeutic meal and 2 snacks per treatment day. When clinically appropriate clients will step down to 3 IOP treatment days with 12+ hours of clinical and nutritional support, readying themselves for the transition to their personal outpatient treatment team. Included in the program are a variety of group and individual therapeutic and experiential components to support clients as they travel along the treatment path to a richer, fuller, healthier life.
Each client is assigned a primary therapist registered dietitian to conduct individual and family sessions and to collaborate with clients as they move through their treatment journey. In our intensive outpatient program, there is a high emphasis on meal support in the client’s home environment to create an environment conducive to supporting the client’s nutritional support needs.
Our IOP can be utilized as a step down for individuals coming from a higher level of care, as a step up for individuals requiring increased support, as a first step in the recovery process, or any combination of the sort. Our specialized treatment team comes together and develops creative plans for each individual’s life and treatment situation.
